News update: R2 Studios!
We're under "new" management! Not really, we're just joining a new division of the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media, R2 Studios.

Hey, it's Abby Mullen here at the Roy Rosenzweig Center for History and New Media, we've been doing podcasts since before podcasting was cool. Have a listen to this clip from episode one of digital campus in 2007 with a rad intro by Professor Michael O'Malley.

The only thing we have to fear is fear itself, fear itself.

From the Center for History and new media at George Mason University, this is Digital Campus, a bi weekly discussion of how digital media and technology are affecting learning, teaching, and scholarship at colleges, universities, libraries, and museums.

Now we took a little break from podcasting when digital campus ended, but podcasting has come a long way since then. More people listen to podcasts than ever before, and more folks are getting their history from podcasts than ever before. So we're getting back into this form of new media.

We started this endeavor last year when we started Consolation Prize, which is, as you hopefully know by now a podcast about the history of the United States in the world through the eyes of its consoles. This year, we're starting new shows like The Green Tunnel about the history of the Appalachian Trail. So with the support of the Andrew W Mellon Foundation, we're forming a division of the center that we're calling R2 Studios.

That's not the Disney robot. That's R2 as in Roy Rosenzweig. Roy was always pushing the boundaries of new media, and we hope that R2 Studios will too.

All of our shows are produced primarily by historians. We'll bring our historian skills to the party as we tell you amazing stories from the past and explore how these stories tell us just a bit more about who we are and when you hear our stories, you can know that we've got the receipts. Each episode of every show is thoroughly researched, and you can take a look at that research for yourself on each show's website. Our show notes always include full transcripts, bios of our guests, and information about where we got the stories that we're telling you. So all of our shows are perfect for a classroom, a run, or a road trip.
